The breed known today as Gypsy horses evolved from secretive and selective matings extending over a century. The Gypsy horse is generally quite gentle and quickly bond with those who care for them. Their presence can be calming to their owners and inspire confidence since very few exhibit temperamental attitudes. The trust and mutual affection established between these horses and their owners is often clearly evident.

The Gypsy horse is easy to love. They are unique and display dignity in their relationships with their owners. Willing to please they enjoy company and attention. At Ten Oaks Gypsy Horses, each horse is given personal and quality time to establish a bond. Imported to Southern Illinois in 2007, the Gypsy horses at Ten Oaks have provided an educational opportunity to the area. Providing information about the rich cultural heritage and introducing this beautiful breed to the visitors who stop has been incredibly enjoyable.
